Jarmila Konečná

Jarmila Konečná is a Czech costume designer and one of the prominent figures of the Czech theatre scene. A graduate of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, she has created dozens of costumes for drama, opera, and ballet. She has collaborated with leading Czech theatres, including the National Theatre in Prague, the Prague City Theatres, and the Vinohrady Theatre. Her work is known for its attention to detail, playful use of colour, and ability to capture the psychology of characters through costume. Critics describe her as “a distinctive artist who can turn costume into an integral part of the story” and praise her sensitive blending of tradition with modern elements.
