Květa Fialová
Květa Fialová (1929–2017) was a legendary Czech actress whose elegance, humour and unmistakable feminine energy made her one of the most distinctive faces of Czech theatre and film. After graduating from JAMU, she performed on stages across the country, but she was most closely associated with the ABC Theatre and the Prague City Theatres, where she excelled in both comedic and dramatic roles.
Audiences adore her from film classics such as Lemonade Joe, Adéla Hasn’t Had Her Dinner Yet, You Don’t Strike a Woman Even with a Flower, I Enjoy the World with You and The Blissful Years of Lousy Living. On stage, she became famous for her cultivated acting and characteristic charm, which led the media to call her “the first lady of Czech comedy” or “an icon of nobility.”
