Jiří Pecha
Jiří Pecha (1944–2019) was a distinctive Czech actor, singer-songwriter and longtime member of the theatre Husa na provázku, where he spent more than fifty years and became one of its defining personalities. Audiences adored him for his rough tenderness, unmistakable humour and unique “Pechovský” style that blended acting, music and the poetics of a pub bard.
He became famous in the legendary Balada pro banditu, Commedia dell’arte, Babička and many other cult productions at Husa na provázku that shaped modern Czech theatre. Beyond the stage, he also appeared in film and television — for example in Pupendo, Divided We Fall (Musíme si pomáhat), The Inheritance or Fuckoffguysgoodday (Dědictví aneb Kurvahošigutntág), Bored in Brno, the fairy-tale Lotrando and Zubejda, and TV series such as Dobrá čtvrť or Četnické humoresky.
