    František Pavlíček

    František Pavlíček was a Czech playwright, screenwriter and writer, regarded as an important figure of 20th-century Czech drama. He was born in 1923 in Lukov near Zlín and studied Slavic literature and aesthetics at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University in Prague. He worked as a dramaturg at the Barrandov film studios and later served as the artistic director of the Vinohrady Theatre in Prague. Pavlíček is widely known as the screenwriter of the legendary fairy-tale film Three Wishes for Cinderella, one of the most beloved Czech films. In addition to film scripts, he wrote stage and radio plays and worked on dramatizations of literary works. His writing is appreciated for strong storytelling, vivid dialogue and a keen sense of dramatic structure, which makes his work an enduring part of Czech theatrical literature.
