    Oleksandr Rudynskyi

    Oleksandr Rudynskyi is a Ukrainian theatre and film actor, Honored Artist of Ukraine (2025). He was born on July 23, 1996, in Mykolaiv. In 2018, he graduated from the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Karyi University of Theatre, Cinema and Television (workshop of Dmytro Bohomazov) and in the same year joined the company of the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theatre, where he continues to work. Among his most notable stage roles are Caligula in the production of the same name directed by Ivan Uryvskyi and Macbeth. Rudynskyi gained wide recognition in film after the TV series First Swallows. He played Rudy in Oleh Sentsov’s film Rhino (2021), which received awards at the Stockholm International Film Festival. He also appeared in the Netflix series The Decameron and in The Agency, a series produced with the involvement of George Clooney. In 2025, the short film Rock, Paper, Scissors by British director Franz Böhm, in which Rudynskyi played one of the leading roles, won a BAFTA Award — marking the first victory for Ukraine in this category. He dedicated his acceptance speech to a fallen friend.
