Oleksandr Khomenko

Alexander Khomenko — director, screenwriter, and frontman of the creative collective MUR. Born in 2001. Graduated from the directing faculty of the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University. Before the full-scale invasion, he directed music videos for Kalush Orchestra, Tember Blanche, and Nazva. In May 2022, having left the occupation, he founded MUR — and achieved what the Ukrainian school system had failed to do in 30 years of independence: made young people fall in love with Ukrainian literature. "Ty [Romantyka]" is his directorial debut on a grand scale and the first Ukrainian theatrical production ever to receive a cinema release.
