Jaroslava Pecharová

Jaroslava Pecharová is a Czech costume designer who can dress actors so that they instantly transform into fairy-tale characters, historical kings, or rock stars. She studied textile design in Brno and began her career as a designer in the textile industry. Soon, however, she moved into film and television – working at Barrandov Film Studios and Czech Television. She has designed costumes for films such as Accumulator 1, Ride, Color War, King Ubu, Wild Flowers, Year of the Devil, The Pied Piper, Bolero, and the epic Bathory. In addition to film and TV, she has also collaborated with many Czech theatres – including the Prague City Theatres, the Dejvické Theatre, and the Municipal Theatre in Mladá Boleslav. For the film Year of the Devil she was nominated for the Czech Lion Award for Best Costume Design, and for Wild Flowers and King Ubu she was nominated for Best Artistic Achievement.
