
Michal Syrový
Michal Syrový is a recognized Czech set designer. Born in 1982 in České Budějovice, he studied set design at Prague's DAMU, creating his first notable works for graduation productions at the DISK Theatre. Since 2005, he has worked as a freelance set designer and has designed sets for over a hundred theatrical productions. He regularly collaborates with leading Czech directors, including Petr Mikeska, Pavel Khek, Vít Vencl, Pavel Ondruch, Peter Gábor, and Jaroslava Šiktancová. His stage designs regularly complement productions at the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre in Ostrava, the Mladá Boleslav Municipal Theatre, the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec, ABC Theatre, Divadlo Ungelt, Divadlo Mír, and Divadlo v Řeznické. Alongside large-scale play and opera stages, he also enjoys working on intimate chamber projects. For his set design in the Mladá Boleslav production of Albion, he earned a longlist nomination for the Czech Theatre Critics' Award.
