The Moscow Operetta Theater

The Moscow Operetta Theater is situated in the heart of Moscow. With a 1,600-seat auditorium, the building has been remodeled several times since its construction, and presents high-grade sound and lightning equipment. It has been running since 1927 and traditionally stages light opera classics, alongside an increasing number of musicals. The theater boasts an extensive repertoire from Johann Strauss, Imre Kalman and Ferenz Legar, and contemporary light musical theater productions attract a younger audience. The first contemporary Russian musical, Metro, premiered here, as did the Russian translation of the highly popular Notre Dame de Paris.
