Petr Šabach

Petr Šabach was a cult Czech writer, humorist, and master of warm retro short stories whose work fundamentally shaped the Czech cultural scene, from cinema to the theatre stage. A graduate in culturology from the Faculty of Arts at Charles University, he became renowned as the author of the literary source material for Jan Hřebejk's legendary films, such as Cosy Dens (Pelíšky), Pupendo, Big Beat (Šakalí léta), and I'm All Good (U mě dobrý). Another film based on Šabach's stories is Identity Card (Občanský průkaz), directed by Ondřej Trojan. Alongside writing, he worked as an educator and journalist.
