The Magic Mountain
This unique opera by Pawel Mykietyn, directed by Andrzej Chyra, is a specially commissioned work for the Malta Festival Poznań. It is a work that constitutes an innovative reading of Thomas Mann's cult novel "The Magic Mountain". In this poetic interpretation, the line between life and death is blurred in an unusual way. The audience witnesses the coming of age of Hans Castorp, however, as the director likes to say, it is "a story about growing up to die".
